Nura Iman (rtd.), former Minister of Power and Steel and Chairman of ALSCONThe Smelter is a joint project between the Federal Government of Nigeria and two foreign technical participants: Ferrostaal AG of Germany and Reynolds International Inc. of the United States of America. The Federal Government holds 70 % of the total equity shares; Ferrostaal has 20 %, and Reynolds 10%.

 

Ferrostaal is the Turnkey Contractor; Reynolds is supplying the aluminum technology and know-how, while EMS, with assistance from Reynolds, will manage the plant from start-up until the Nigerian management takes over.
